Frequently asked questions

Is VideoDropper free?

Yes. Every tool on this site is free to use, with no account, no subscription and no download limits.

Do I need an Instagram account to download?

No. You only need the link to a public post. No login is required anywhere in the process.

What can I download from Instagram?

Videos, reels, photos and carousels, stories and highlights, reel audio as MP3, and full-size profile pictures.

Can I download from a private Instagram account?

No. Private posts, stories and profiles cannot be fetched by any downloader. Only public content works.

Why did my link fail to download?

The most common reasons are a private or deleted post, a mistyped link, or the platform temporarily blocking lookups. Check the link opens while logged out, then try again.

Where do my downloads go?

Your browser saves them to its Downloads folder. On iPhone, Safari usually puts them in the Files app; on Android they appear in Downloads or your gallery.

Do downloaded videos keep their sound?

Yes. Videos download with their original audio track, exactly as published.

Is downloading Instagram content legal?

Saving content for personal, offline viewing is generally accepted, but the creator owns the rights. Do not repost someone else's work as your own or use it commercially without permission.

Does VideoDropper store my links or downloads?

No. Links are processed on the fly and are not stored. We do not keep a history of what you download.

Can I download Twitter and Facebook videos too?

Yes. The Twitter and Facebook tools work the same way — paste a public link and download the video in HD.

How do I turn a reel into an MP3?

Open the Audio tool, paste the reel link, and tap Download MP3 once the video loads. The conversion runs in your browser.

Who do I contact if something is not working?

Use the contact page to send a message. Include the link that failed and what happened, and we will look into it.
