How to Download Instagram Reels With Audio

Download Instagram reels with audio — full music and sound included. Paste the reel link and save it in HD with its original track.

A reel without its music is only half a reel. The good news is that downloading a reel with its audio is straightforward: the sound travels with the video file, so a proper download keeps both together. Here is how to make sure you get the full reel, music included.

Copy the reel link

Open the reel in Instagram, tap the share arrow and choose Copy Link. Avoid screen recording — recordings lose quality and often capture notification sounds and background noise along with the reel.

Paste it into the Reels tool

Open the Reels tool on VideoDropper and paste the link. The tool fetches the reel in its original quality, with the audio track attached. When the result appears, tap Download Video.

Check the sound after downloading

Play the saved file once to confirm the audio is there. If the reel plays silently, the original audio may be restricted in your region or the reel may have a muted track. In that case the audio-only MP3 option can sometimes still work, since it pulls the same track directly.

Save just the audio

If you only want the song, use the Audio tool instead. Paste the same reel link and tap Download MP3 — the music saves as an audio file you can keep or reuse in your own edits.

Original audio vs licensed music

Not all reel audio behaves the same. Original audio, a voiceover, a funny clip, a sound the creator recorded, travels with the video file and downloads cleanly. Licensed music is different: Instagram licences popular songs for use inside the app, and in some regions that licence does not extend to downloads. If a reel with a famous song downloads silently, that is usually why. The video itself is fine; only the commercial track is restricted.

Check before you repost

Downloading a reel for offline viewing is one thing; reposting it is another. The audio and the video both belong to their creators, and re-uploading a reel as your own can get your account flagged. If you want to share a reel you love, use the share button to send it to friends, or repost it to your story where the original creator is credited automatically. That keeps you on the right side of both the Instagram rules and the wishes of the creator.
